Product information "FC2142 HALO - glass pH/temp electrode for beer testing"

Our HALO Wireless pH meter makes pH testing simple. Take direct beer pH and temperature measurements using your smart phone or tablet. Our HALO has a durable titanium body, high temperature glass sensor, and an extendable cloth type junction. The FC2142 is ideal for measuring the pH of mash or wort during the beer making process. All readings are transmitted directly to your Apple or Android device or the edge® blu. Easily connect to the Hanna Lab App at the press of a button via Bluetooth® wireless technology. Visible from a distance, the LED “halo” light flashes to indicate the status of the probe. The HALOs CR2032 lithium ion battery is easily replaceable and lasts for approximately 500 hours.

HALOTM - pH Probe with Bluetooth® Smart Technology

HALO wireless beer pH meter incorporates Bluetooth Smart technology. Several features that make it ideal for measuring the pH in beer, mash, and wort.

HT Glass

High Temperature Glass Formulation

Measuring pH at very high temperatures is detrimental to the sensitive glass bulb and will shorten the life of your probe. As your beer HALO is used at elevated temperatures, such as in the wort or mash, the resistance decreases. Making it suitable for samples from 0 to 80°C (32 to 176°F).

Titanium Body

Titanium Body

The titanium body offers increased durability that is ideal for rough environments.

Cloth Junction

Cloth Junction

Every pH electrode has a junction. They can be made from a variety of material including ceramic, PTFE, and a fiber wick. The fiber wick is also known as a cloth junction and is often used on electrodes with gelled electrolytes. The advantage of the cloth junction is that it can be extracted from the probe exposing a fresh surface. This is very important since one of the major contributors to unstable measurements is a clogged junction. This is likely to occur when measuring the pH of mash that has a high solids content. Having the ability to pull out a small portion (?”) of the junction will clear any clogging resulting in an increased life of the pH electrode.

Hanna Lab App

HALO pH electrodes can connect with the HI2202 edgeblu meter or a compatible Apple or Android device running the Hanna Lab App.

HALOTM - pH Probe with Bluetooth® Smart Technology

The Hanna Lab App turns a compatible Apple or Android device into a full-featured pH meter when used with the Hanna HALO pH probe with Bluetooth Smart technology. Functions include calibration, measurement, data logging, graphing and data sharing. Measurement and logging of pH and temperature at one second intervals start as soon as the probe is connected. Measurements can be displayed alone on the display, with tabulated data, or as a graph. The graph can be panned and zoomed with pinch-to-zoom technology for enhanced viewing.

Five-Point Calibration

The Hanna Lab App incorporates a probe calibration using up to five pH buffers that are automatically recognized and temperature corrected to 25.0ºC during calibration.

Real-Time Data

Display of pH and temperature updated every second. Readings are automatically saved to a history file every hour, limited only by the available memory on the device.

Fluid, Dynamic Graphing

Measurement can be displayed with tabulated data or as a graph on the display. The graph axes may be expanded using pinch-to-zoom technology for enhanced viewing.

Connecting the HALO probe to the Hanna Lab App is simple. Tap the Bluetooth® icon in the top-right corner of the app to view all available HALO probes, then press the button on your HALO probe. Select the newly discovered HALO probe from the list of available probes. If a previously associated probe is in discovery mode when the app is opened, it will connect to that probe automatically.
