Description
The FC2423 specialized electrode offers numerous features that improve pH testing for cheese producers. The robust stainless steel sheath paired with the conical sensing tip allows for penetration in cheese at various points throughout the production process. An integrated temperature sensor also ensures that all pH measurements are compensated for temperature without the need for a separate temperature probe. This electrode is made for the direct measurement of cheese and has a very small diameter of only 5 mm (0.2″) to minimize the hole left behind.
Stainless Steel Body
To help protect from breakage Hanna Instruments made this electrode with an unbreakable stainless steel body. AISI 316 stainless steel can withstand chloride concentrations that cause corrosion in other types of alloys.
Conic Glass Tip
The conical shaped tip design allows for penetration into solids, semi-solids, and emulsions for the direct measurement of pH in samples such as cheese.
Built-In Temperature Sensor
Errors in calibration and measurement are eliminated with the Automatic Temperature Compensation provided by the integrated temperature sensor.
Open Junction Reference
Suspended solids and proteins found in food products will clog a conventional ceramic reference junction. This clogging will impede the measurement circuit between the indicating electrode and the internal reference resulting in slower response time, erratic readings, and frequent electrode replacement. The open junction design consists of a solid gel interface (viscolene) between the sample and internal Ag/AgCl reference. This interface not only prevents silver from entering the sample, but also makes it impermeable to clogging, resulting in a fast response and stable readings.
Quick Connect DIN Connector
The FC2423 uses a quick connect DIN connector. This type of connector can only be used with Hanna meters that accept a quick connect DIN connector. Other type of connectors include BNC, screw type, T-type, and 3.5mm to name a few.
